Beginning Knitting

Saturdays, 8:30 – 9:30 am Pacific Time

March 2, 9,16, and 23, 2024

Registration $125 USD

This workshop for adults is taught by Elizabeth Seward, author of Teaching Through Stories: Jane and Jeremy Learn to Knit. You will learn basic knitting skills, such as casting on, casting off, the basic knit stitch, and how to change colors for stripes. You will also learn how to effectively and enjoyably teach these skills to children in a classroom or homeschool setting. We will make a bunny (or two) and a butterfly (or two).

 

Pre-requisites: willingness to learn, and willingness to work between classes.

Supplies

Bunny

1 pair size US 10 (6mm) needles and approx 1-2 ozs (30-50g bulky weight yarn in a bunny

color 

OR 

1 pair size US 8 (5mm) needles and approx 1-2 ozs (30-50g) worsted weight yarn

in a bunny color

Yarn needle - (blunt with a big eye) for sewing

Wool stuffing - approx 2 ozs (50-60g)

Butterfly

1 pair size US 10 (6mm) needles and approx 1 oz (20g) total bulky weight yarn in several colors

OR 

1 pair size US 8 (5mm) needles and approx 1-2 ozs (30-50g) total worsted weight yarn

in several colors

Yarn needle - (blunt with a big eye) for sewing
